Time to get down to some Boarding at Spirit Mountain
Ski season arrived in the Twin Ports this Saturday 11-22-08. It will be one of the earliest openings ever for Spirit Mountain. If you are lucky enough to own a Duluth Home get those skis or snowboard out and head for the hill. Hours will be from 9-5 Saturday and Sunday with what hopes to be 2 runs open. Starting Thursday Thanksgiving Day will be the annual snowcross at Spirit Mountain. This event really packs them in and can be the key to a successful year at Spirit. Racers come from all over to participate and fans number in the many thousands. It was cold enough this year to make lots of snow early for the race and get the stands up and ready. After the races the snow will be spread out over the hill with the snow cat and the skiers and snowboarders will rule the hill for the rest of the season.
